bought some calming music for Baby

Went to a seminar held by the kind folks over at Babies"R"Us today.
Learned a few tips to get Isabella asleep easier.

We have this little song that I made up a long time ago for her. We discovered that when I sing to her in a relaxed deep tone, while she rests on me with her head on my chest, I can quickly put her to sleep.
For a long time, it was my AHA! over Mommy. Ofcourse Mommy has her many amazing things that she does, but … this time around, it was Daddy.
I was able to put her to sleep just by humming to her. Sometimes, I’d just hum whatever little tune popped into my head. If I wasn’t humming, I was singing. If I wasn’t singing, I was humming.

Then one day, I decided it would be a neat idea if I were to send Mommy a voicemail with me singing her lullaby. She was able to save the attached audio clip, and play it for Baby at any time. It really did the trick.

Until I noticed that when I actually sang to her, it would take her longer to fall asleep. I think that maybe the soothing effect began to wear off. After all, Mommy DID play it for her over and over and over again, until she just dozed off!

So after our little seminar at the store, we bought a few CDs to try at home.

We even bought a few spanish ones, too!

Can I change the size or features of the Bookmarklet window?

Can I change the size or features of the Bookmarklet window?

The bookmarklet (My Account > Bookmarklet) is simply a snippet of javascript that opens a new window and pre-populates some information in the EE entry form for you. You can alter it by altering the javascript.

Credit for this tip goes to spacey310:

  1. Right click on the link, and select “Properties”
  2. Copy everything in the “Location” field into a text editor
  3. At the very end the text is something like
    • 'bmentry',''))
  4. Replace that with
    • 'bmentry','width=700,height=520,toolbar=0,status=1,location=0, scrollbars=1,menubar=1,resizable=1'))

You can specify the size you want as well as the various window options.

Accessible Captcha

I installed a new extension tonight.

Accessible Captcha

This extension changes the captchas from graphic words to user-definable questions and answers. The settings allow you to create up to 8 simple questions and answers that will be randomly chosen in place of the captcha. These captchas are completely accessible as long as you remember to make the questions straightforward and without cultural context (unless you need to restrict usage to a specific group or type of site visitor).
